DMCA & Copyright
Last updated October 9, 2026
OmegleLife respects copyright, and we expect the people who use it to do the same. If you believe something on OmegleLife infringes your copyright, you can send us a notice. We follow the notice-and-takedown process of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you're outside the US, send the same information and we'll handle it under the law that applies to you.
What can and can't be removed
Most of OmegleLife is live, one-to-one chat. We don't store chat messages or record video, so once a chat ends there is usually nothing left on our servers to remove. Photos and videos that Premium users send in chat are deleted automatically after 24 hours.
A copyright notice is most useful for material that stays on the site, such as text or images on our pages and blog posts. If someone is showing or sending your work during a live chat, press Report in the chat. That ends the chat at once and is faster than a legal notice.
How to send a copyright notice
Send your notice by email to our designated agent:
- Agent: [Designated agent name], [Company legal name]
- Address: [Registered address]
- Email: [email protected], with "DMCA notice" in the subject line
Under the DMCA, your notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature, as the copyright owner or as someone authorised to act for them.
- A description of the copyrighted work you believe someone has infringed. If your notice covers several works, a representative list is enough.
- A description of the material you want removed and where to find it on OmegleLife, with the exact URL if there is one.
- Your name, postal address, phone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the copyright owner, its agent or the law has not authorised the use of the material.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act for them.
If a notice is missing any of these, we may not be able to act on it, and we'll tell you what's missing.
What we do with a valid notice
We remove or disable access to the material, usually as soon as we can confirm what the notice refers to. Where we have a way to contact the person who posted it, we tell them that we removed it and pass on a copy of the notice, which may include your name and contact details.
Counter-notices
If we removed something you posted and you believe the removal was a mistake, or that you have the right to use the material, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. It must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- A description of the material we removed and where it appeared before we removed it.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed because of a mistake or because someone misidentified it.
- Your name, address and phone number.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district of your address. If your address is outside the US, you consent to any judicial district in which OmegleLife may be found. You must also state that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice, or their agent.
When we receive a valid counter-notice, we send a copy to the person who filed the original notice. If they don't tell us within 10 business days that they've filed a court action to keep the material down, we may restore it between 10 and 14 business days after we received the counter-notice.
Repeat infringers
We ban people who repeatedly infringe copyright. Bans on OmegleLife can cover an IP address, a device, an account or an email address, and Premium users who are banned for this don't get a refund.
False or abusive notices
Before you send a notice, make sure you own the rights, or act for the owner, and consider whether the use might be allowed, for example as fair use. Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, anyone who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice can be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees.
Other problems
This address is for copyright notices. For trademark issues, privacy complaints, impersonation, or content that is harmful but not a copyright matter, write to [email protected] and describe the problem. To report a user's behaviour in a chat, use the Report button and see the Safety Center. Our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines explain the rules for using the site.
